I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success..
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain......
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

1 Peter 4:16

but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify in this name.

BECOMING AN IMPACT PERSON

Acts 21:30a
The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions.

No matter where Paul went he always made an impact: There was either a revival or a riot. In the passage there was a riot.

Paul was absolutely unforgettable -- he stirred strong emotions, and as a result he changed lives. He was one of those people that if you only met him briefly, you would remember him vividly. Paul had that kind of an impact on people. There was no mistaking the relationship he had with Jesus Christ, because it influenced every aspect of his life.

Philippians 2:13:
"For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose."

WHAT KIND OF IMPACT FOR JESUS WILL YOU BE?

FINDING THE LIVING WATER

"I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint."says the LORD. Jeremiah 31:25 (NIV)

When you're wandering in the desert, your thirst can become unbearable. You may become faint, disoriented, but you can find refreshment and strength in faith with the LORD.

Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4: 13-14 (NIV)

Are we drinking of the LIVING WATER?

ALLOWING GOD TO BE GOD

In my life I like to take care of what needs to be taken care of. Maybe it is the car, or maybe it is a problem with work and maybe it is even something spiritual and I know the best way to handle it also. Or do I? God's WORD tell us the way and who to rely on.

Isaiah 55: 8-9
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

God is like the TV show "Father knows Best"

Psalms 37:3-5
Trust in the LORD and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

So we all need to step out of the way and allow God to be God!

You Are The Temple of God

In the Old Testament the LORD God had a temple for His people;

1 Samuel 3:3 (NIV)

The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was.

however, in the New Testament He has His people for a temple.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NIV)

Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

To understand that God’s people are a temple (without a building) might be foreign to most of us, but to God we are precious to Him and we live by GRACE.

1 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)

If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

So live as God wants you to be: (A Temple to the LORD)

Romans 12:1 (NIV)

Living Sacrifices

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

THE RIGHT ROAD

Knowing that you are on the right road is important. Today with GPS’s we know that it will give us directions to our destination, but most of the time it will take you down the wrong road to get there. Life can be like that, many directions, but only one way.

John 14:6 (NIV)

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

So knowing that there is only one right road we need to seek His counsel.

1 Kings 22:5 (NIV)

But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD."

Then we need to be willing to give all to follow Him.

Philippians 1:21 (NIV)

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Do you want to be on the right road?
